The Hollywood Star That Changed My Life

The Hollywood Star That Changed My Life

Big Fork In The Road

How this farm thing came about is quite unlikely.

I was a Nebraska girl dreaming of living in New York City, wearing Chanel suits, pearls and very high heels. A farm was never part of the plan. Life was about cashmere sweaters, not dirty, muddy shoes.

Then I met a handsome movie star in California. He was charming and good natured, ... but he had a past.

He'd grown up on a farm. He milked cows, rode his horse to school and apparently wore very dirty boots.

He convinced me that our life would be ... normal. And for years, it was. Then, something happened. We decided we needed to live on a farm.

So, that's where we are ... with a barn, horses and all kinds of other creatures necessary to call this a farm. It's true that Hollywood isn't too far away, along with the hectic life that we avoid. There are no dusty roads or Cottonwood trees to line the drive ... this sure isn't Nebraska.

However, with the ocean nearby and all the sunshine, this will do. We love this peaceful life with our animals. And I've become quite attached to my well worn, dusty paddock boots. And, oh by the way, I do wear very tired, very old cashmere sweaters in the barn. Life is good.
